Mailbag Friday 9-7-12

By: John Elder posted in Adsense

Hello good people!

Well the thin site rollercoaster continues. After several solid days of increasing earnings, yesterday saw dismal earnings across my 100 test sites.

Adsense revenue was $6.59, Shopzilla came in at a whopping $1.67 off of 11 clicks on 5,427 impressions (which is pretty consistent with what I’ve been seeing from them from the start), and Amazon earnings came in at a gigantic $.98 cents off of one item purchased for $16.25.

I’m not really worried about it because it’s common to see little dips like this on the way up. I like to think of them as short gasps of breath before the next jog upwards.

Work is coming along amazingly well for the new MarketingFool.com Insiders Club website. I’m very excited about it.

I’ve finished a completely new portal website tutorial, completely explained my secret .htaccess trick for creating millions of autogenerated webpages that Google loves, and posted a brand new Keyword Parsing Tool that will save you TONS of time building any site that requires keyword research.

I’m telling you, the Insider’s club is going to be really cool…the information and hands on help in there will all but guarantee your success.

I hope to have it open for membership by early next week.

Let’s Open The Mailbag!

Well it’s Friday, which means that it’s time to open the ‘ole mailbag and answer some of your questions from throughout the week.

Question 1

Today’s first question comes from Alan K. who asks “I only have a couple hours a night to work on this stuff…what type of sites should I focus on?

Great question Alan. Many of my readers choose to go the route that you’re traveling which is to keep their day job and ease into things by working on building an Adsense Empire at night and on the weekend.

That’s one of the great things about this business, you don’t have to invest a lot of time or money to get started.

I recommend spending most of your time building thick sites right now, but also throw up thin sites for a half hour or so a night (if you have the time).

Google seems to be smiling on thin sites again, but they always like thick. Since thick sites take so much longer to build, I suggest you spend most of your time working on them.

Question 2

The next question comes from Pixlegrl27, who asks How many thin sites can I cram onto a basic hostgator web hosting account?

Good question Pixlegrl27… that’s a tricky one. Technically there is no limit…but whenever I’ve tried to put more than 50 sites on a single hostgator account, weird things start to happen.

If you’re pushing that limit, I really suggest you upgrade to Servint. I can’t say enough awesome things about them.

That’s all for this week…keep the questions coming and…

Keep on building!
