Mailbag Friday 8-10-12

Hello good people!
Wow the temperature’s really dropped here in the windy city. It’s in the 60’s right now and rainy. Such a strange summer we’ve had weather-wise!
Well it’s Friday and that means it’s time once again to open the mailbag and answer some of your questions.
Today’s first question comes from Sarah, who asks: “With Google acting so flaky lately, what are you doing for SEO on your adsense websites?”
Great question. The truth is, I’m not doing ANY seo work on any of my sites. Granted, I’ve never really done any SEO work on my thin sites, I let their longtail magic do the SEO work for me.
But I’ve always done SEO work on my thick sites…but not anymore. There’s just no way to know what Google looks for as far as SEO these days. They seem to penalize anything that even smells like SEO these days.
I’m certainly working on it though. I’m running about a hundred tests to figure out which way the wind is truly blowing, but the kind of tests that I’m running take time. So we’ll just have to sit back and wait and see!
The next question comes from Josh, who asks: “What’s up with your membership site? How come it’s not ready yet?”
Hey Josh…the membership site is coming along, it should be ready in the next week or two. I’m also putting the finishing touches on my thick site case study ebook. Right now it’s weighing in at just under 200 pages of hands on step by step instruction explaining my thick site strategy with examples.
The reason it’s taking a little longer than I had anticipated is because I’m working on a couple other projects, one a new social media gaming site, and two a new shopping engine site that I’ll share with you when it’s done.
